Refund policy

How refunds and cancellations work for downloads, birth packages, and hourly sessions.

Last updated October 2, 2026

At Birthing With Gnomie, I’m committed to transparent, compassionate, and reliable support. Because doula care means reserving calendar time just for your family and turning down other clients, these terms cover retainers, service balances, communication, and refunds. Your signed agreement is the final word.

1. Retainers and holding your date

  • Supported Birth: $250 retainer
  • Standard Birth Support: $300 retainer
  • Pay-It-Forward Birth: $500 retainer
  • Non-refundable retainers: the retainer is due when you sign your service agreement. It holds your due date window (38 to 42 weeks) on my calendar, which means turning down other families. Retainers are not refundable.

2. Balances and cancellations

  • When the balance is due: the rest of your package ($300 for Supported, $550 for Standard, $700 for Pay-It-Forward) is due between 37 and 39 weeks of pregnancy.
  • Canceling before labor: if you cancel before labor and tell me in writing, the retainer is kept and any balance you’ve already paid is refunded in full.
  • Completed services: once prenatal visits or labor support have happened, fees for those services are not refundable.

3. Staying in touch

  • Your part: keep in contact, update me after late prenatal appointments, and call or text me promptly when signs of labor begin.
  • If you don’t let me know: if you’ve paid for birth support upfront and don’t call, text, or tell me when labor starts or when you need me, the remaining balance isn’t refunded in cash. Being on call means putting my personal life on hold and declining other families for that time.

4. Turning unused fees into postpartum care

  • If I wasn’t told about your labor or birth after you paid upfront, I still want to support you as you settle in. Cash refunds aren’t given in that case, but anything paid beyond the retainer can go toward daytime in-home postpartum visits we agree on together.
  • Daytime only: these credits cover daytime visits, not overnight care.

5. If I can’t be there

  • Emergencies: if illness, a personal emergency, severe weather, or travel restrictions keep me from your birth, your remaining birth balance is waived or refunded in full.
  • Very fast labor: if your baby arrives before I can get there even though you let me know in time, I’ll give you postpartum support instead of labor support, or adjust your remaining balance as your agreement says.

6. Hourly services and add-on visits

  • Virtual prenatal support ($50 an hour): fully refundable if you cancel at least 24 hours before your session. You can reschedule up to two times, and missing a second rescheduled session isn’t refunded.
  • In-home daytime visits ($65 an hour) and hospital postpartum support ($100 an hour): not refundable once the visit has happened.
  • Package add-on visits ($50): schedule and use them within 30 days of buying. Unused add-on visits expire after 30 days and aren’t refunded.

7. Digital products

Guides and the course are delivered as downloads right after purchase. Payments are processed securely by Stripe, and card details never reach this website.

All sales of guides and the course are final, but if something goes wrong with your purchase, like a duplicate charge, a download that won’t open, or a link that never arrives, contact me and I’ll fix it.

Lost your download email? You can request a new download link with the email address you used at checkout.
